Parent chairmen Chris Cammarata and Michelle Ritter recently announced Chesapeake Academy’s 17th annual Community Oyster Roast will be held from 5-9 p.m. October 13 on the Rowe Campus, 107 Steamboat Road, Irvington.
The oyster roast is based on the popular roll-up-your sleeves southern tradition, which features sacks of fresh, local oysters in the shell roasted over outdoor grills until juice starts to bubble out of the shells, then delivered to the tables where they need a nudge from an oyster knife to release the top shell and seductive aromas, reported development associate Catherine C.
