Zoom history
The Lancaster Virginia Historical Society, in partnership with Holley Graded School Inc., will host a two-part virtual program, “Black Voices: Memories of Holley Graded School,” by Zoom. All viewers must pre-register to receive the Zoom link. Register at www.LancasterVaHistory.org or call 462-7280.

Paint night
RAL Art Center, 19 North Main Street, Kilmarnock, will host Paint Night from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, February 24. The project will be “Bird of Paradise.” The instructor will be Dough Mock.

Volunteer fair
The Foundation for Historic Christ Church (FHCC) invites the community to a volunteer fair from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, February 24, at Historic Christ Church & Museum, 420 Christ Church Road, Weems. Positions include docents, receptionists, gardeners and researchers.
Cooking demo
Stratford Hall will offer a free virtual lecture and cooking demonstration at 7 p.m. Monday, February 28. Dr. Kelley Fanto Deetz will present Sugar, Slavery, and Revolution: The Real History of White Gold. Pre-registration is required. Register at stratfordhall.org.
Sundays at Two
The Lancaster Community Library Sundays at Two winter lecture series will open March 6 with Book Writing: From Idea to Publication by Dr. Allener Baker-Rogers.
The lecture will begin at 2 p.m. at LCL, 16 Town Centre Drive, Kilmarnock.
Barbecue dinner
Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern, 73 Monument Place, Heathsville, will serve a take-out barbecue dinner from 4-6 p.m. March 6.

Telling all
The Reedville Fishermen’s Museum will host “Local Watermen Tell All – Believe it or Not!” from 7-8 p.m. March 7 at Festival Halle, 177 Main Street, Reedville. Herb Lewis, Emory Lewis, Mate Swift and Meredith Robbins will share “salty” stories.
