Washington Family Christmas
The public is invited to celebrate a Washington Family Christmas from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. December 30 at George Washington Birthplace National Monument, 1732 Popes Creek Road, Colonial Beach.
The event will feature a variety of living history demonstrations including open-hearth cooking, blacksmithing, music, spinning and weaving. Tours of the Memorial House also will be offered and after dark, the historic area will be illuminated by candlelight.
Country breakfast
Lancaster Union Lodge #88 A.F. & A.M. will serve an all-you-can-eat country breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday, January13, at the Lodge, 48 North Main Street, Kilmarnock.
The fee is $10. Ages 5 and younger, uniformed military and law enforcement eat free.
Burns Night
The Kilmarnock and District Pipe Band will host its 19th annual Burns Night Supper and concert at 5 p.m. January 27 at the Masonic Lodge #100, 1434 Goodluck Road, Kilmarnock. Doors will open at 5 p.m., the program will begin at 5:45 p.m., the parade of the Haggis will begin about 6:20 p.m. followed by dinner. The program will continue following the dinner and conclude by 8:30 p.m.
Tickets are $40 each. Ticket holders may make table reservations for tables of eight by calling Rusty Spears, 438-4597.
On Stage
The Rappahannock Foundation for the Arts 2017-18 On Stage series will present MozART on March 9 at the Lancaster Middle School Theater, 191 School Street, Kilmarnock. The series will continue with the Sons of Serendip, April 14.

Veterans’ breakfast
Commonwealth Senior Living at Farnham, 511 Cedar Grove Road, Farnham, hosts a Veterans’ Breakfast at 9 a.m. on second Tuesdays. Participants are urged to RSVP at 394-2102.
