KILMARNOCK—For all those skeptics and non-believers, Valarie Turner of Kilmarnock is proof positive that Publishers Clearing House (PCH) is not a scam.

Turner was lying on her sofa about 10:30 a.m. last Tuesday, watching “Let’s Make a Deal” in between her morning and mid-day summer school bus runs, when she got a knock at the door. Turner wasn’t expecting company. And she surely wasn’t expecting what was on the other side of her front door—Dave Sayer and Howie Guja, the PCH Prize Patrol, there to present her a $20,000 check.

“I looked out and saw them. They had a dozen roses and balloons and champagne, just like on TV….
