The Virginia High School League (VHSL) failed to make any recommendations for fall athletic schedules following a special session of the executive committee last week.
The committee met to discuss the fiscal year 2021 budget and fall sports on June 25, but did not offer any recommendations to schools regarding the fall athletic schedules, according to Mike McCall, VHSL director of communications.
On June 19, VHSL released an extensive list of recommended guidelines for school division as they prepared to reopen activities. VHSL formulated the guidelines in cooperation with the Virginia Department of Health, the Virginia Department of Education and the VHSL Sports Medicine Advisory Committee.
