
IRVINGTON—Betty Ruth Martin, 79, of Irvington passed away on May 15, 2025, surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her husband of 34 wonderful years, Ronald M. Martin; sons, Steven Self and Tim Self (Stephanie); seven grandchildren, Matthew Self, Brandon Self, Steven Self, Corey Self, Kayleigh Self, Justin Cammarata and Ryan Cammarata; and five great-grandchildren.
Betty was a hair stylist for 35 years and operated shops in Northumberland and Lancaster counties. Betty was also known to most as “Grandma Betty.” The mother and grandmother that would always go beyond for her sons and grandchildren. Her heart was always open to anyone in need and she loved to make her family and friends laugh.
She was also known for her loving, generous nature that extended beyond her family and friends and that was towards animals. Betty once took care of a wounded turkey buzzard until he was fully healed.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family asks to please make a donation to your local Animal Welfare League in her name.
