WICOMICO CHURCH—Frances Carroll Bradshaw Bryant, 76, of Wicomico Church went with her Savior to her heavenly home escorted by angels on Friday, December 20, 2024.
Frances was born on Tangier Island to the late Carroll Vincent Bradshaw and Ella Marshall Bradshaw of Tangier Island. She was also the cherished wife of William “Bill” Warren Bryant Sr. Together they have shared 56 wonderful years of marriage.
Frances graduated from Tangier Combined School in 1966. Immediately after graduation, she left for Richmond and worked for several years as a dental assistant where she would cross paths with William “Bill” Bryant of the Northern Neck. In 1968 they were married and started their family life in Mechanicsville. They would later be blessed with two children, William and Hannah.
Throughout her years she would work in the school cafeteria serving the students in Henrico and Hanover counties. She thoroughly enjoyed seeing the kids and interacting with them as they came through her line. When her husband retired, they moved to the Northern Neck. She finally retired as a cafeteria worker from Northumberland County Schools.
As a member of Goodwill Baptist Church in Richmond and later at Northern Neck Baptist in Callao, Frances’ faith was very important to her. She served with her gift of hospitality and as a leader for 33 years in the AWANA program for children.
Frances is preceded in death by her parents, Carroll Vincent Bradshaw and Ella Marshall Bradshaw; and her two brothers, Eugene Dale Bradshaw and Vincent Kent Bradshaw.
She is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Warren Bryant Sr.; her son, William W. Bryant Jr. (Wendy); and her daughter, Hannah B. Harrelson (Steven); and her grandchildren, Luke, Michaela, Julia and David. She is also survived by her sister, Jennie E. Hattorf.
Funeral services were conducted from the chapel of Currie Funeral Home on Saturday, December 28, with the visitation at 11 a.m. and the service at noon with pastor Steve Harrelson officiating. Interment followed in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lively.
