Gerald E. “Jerry” Jones

Gerald E. “Jerry” Jones

LANCASTER—On January 31, 2025, Gerald Eugene “Jerry” Jones, 76, of Lancaster lost his battle with cancer and entered into the loving arms of our Lord. He was surrounded by his loving wife, Brenda Biggs, and their families.

Jerry was born in St. Louis, Mo., on October 12, 1948, to James T. and Sarah Gunter Jones. After serving in the Vietnam War, he started a contracting company, Custom Craft Contractors, in Maryland.

After meeting Brenda, Jerry and she moved to the Corrotoman area of Lancaster County five years ago, which was a big change for this Maryland man. He thoroughly enjoyed his new wife, driving his golf cart to the pool, the shooting range, local Moose Lodge 2527, and having dinner at The Oaks, The Corner, Anna’s and Ellen’s. He could be found buying weekly lottery tickets at the Chill Stop and shopping at Tri-Star. We will miss his smile, his Vietnam Veterans cap and his quick wit.

Along with his wife, Brenda; Jerry is survived by his son, Gerald E. Jones Jr. (Melissa); step-children Bambi Bryant (Steve), and Fred Biggs III (Lori); grandchildren, Evan Jones and Bailey Jones; step-grandchildren, Amber Gingell (Ian), Connor Bryant (Kate) and Abigail Biggs; and stepgreat-grandson, Leon Bryant.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 15, at Corrotoman Baptist Church in Lancaster. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and a reception will immediately follow the service. Jerry will be laid to rest with military honors at Quantico Cemetery later this month.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the church.

Currie Funeral Home LLC of Kilmarnock handled the arrangements.
