Grace Church grant requests are due by May 1

The deadline for grant requests from community organizations seeking funds from the Grace Church Yard Sale is May 1.

Grant applications can be completed online, emailed or mailed to Grace Episcopal Church or dropped at the church office at 303 South Main Street, Kilmarnock. Checks for approved requests will be issued by the end of May.

“While there are many local nonprofits with important missions, we focus our giving on providing services for those in need, those that serve the largest number of residents and especially those that focus on children,” said Cliffe Harris. “We believe this approach allows us to achieve maximum impact with our limited funds.”

The Grace Church Outreach Committee funded 21 different requests in 2024. Last year the Grace Church Yard Sale generated over $164,000 that was given back to community organizations.

Requirements, guidelines and applications are available at graceepiscopalwebsite.com, or visit the church office from 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

Money generated from the Yard Sale provides incoming funds to support this outreach ministry, said Harris. With the support of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Kilmarnock, Grace Church Yard Sale utilizes the large facility at 401 South Main Street, Kilmarnock. The Yard Sale is open from 10 a.m.-noon Tuesdays and Thursdays and 1-3 p.m. Sundays from 1 to 3, except for holidays and inclement weather.
