The Garden Club of the Northern Neck will host a Historic Garden Week tour April 30 on the Crab Point Peninsula, along the Rappahannock River near White Stone. A garden and four waterfront homes will be open for this walking/shuttle tour, including historic Pop Castle (above), circa 1855. Tickets: $50 in advance at vagardenweek.org for timed entry: 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and 1 p.m.-4 p.m.; $60 on tour day.
Historic Garden Week (HGW) is a cherished springtime tradition for both Garden Club of Virginia (GCV) members, who come together to create it, and for over 24,000 people who attend the statewide event.
Proceeds are used to preserve and restore historic public gardens in Virginia. Over 120 private homes and gardens will be part of 29 distinct tours April 27 through May 3.
