Lancaster High School had two gold medalists and scored 225 points to win the Northern Neck District wrestling championship before a home crowd on Saturday, January 29.
River Diaz pinned Trequan Veney in the final bout and went 4-0 to win the 150 championship. Joseph Harcum of Lancaster was the only wrestler in the 106 weight class to earn a gold medal.
However, the Red Devils had four silver medalists and five bronze medalists to beat out four other district teams for the team tournament trophy.
