LHS robotics team to compete in multistate tournament Feb. 8

The Lancaster High School robotics team, Kinetic Storm, on February 8 will go to the FIRST Chesapeake Regional Championship in Silver Spring, Md., to participate in the FIRST Technical Challenge competition with the top teams from Virginia, D.C., Maryland and West Virginia.

Winners at the regional championship will advance to the FIRST World Championship in Houston, Texas, in April.

Lancaster Kinetic Storm earned the second place Inspire Award at a recent tournament in Glen Allen. This award qualified the team to advance to the championship level.

“The Inspire Award is the highest award a team can earn, as they must be a top contender in all six of the other award categories: Think, Connect, Innovate, Control, Motivate and Design,” said coach Shelia Chewning. “We have a young team….
