NNK 250 speaker series on April 27 to focus on kidnapping of Pocahontas

The fourth of five talks in the 2025 NNK250 Signature Speaker Series will be held at 2 p.m. April 27, at the Rappahannock Indigenous Conservation Education Center, Cat Point Creek Unit, Rappahannock River Valley National Wildlife Refuge, 2570 Newland Road, Warsaw.

Dr. Brad Hatch’s topic will be “The Kidnapping of Pocahontas, Politics and Mythmaking in Patawomeck Country,” reported Northern Neck Planning District Commission economic development and tourism coordinator Lisa Hull.

Dr. Hatch is an enrolled citizen of the Patawomeck Tribe, serves as Chief Judge on the Tribal Council, is a traditional knowledge keeper and a trained….
