HEATHSVILLE—The Northumberland County Circuit Court convened Tuesday, October 7, with the Hon. John S. Martin presiding.
Dorris N. Brown of Heathsville was found guilty of embezzlement, over $200. She was sentenced to five years with five years suspended and faces $405 in costs.
In the case of Christopher L. Goins Jr. of Lancaster, charged with four counts of probation violation on a felony offense, a status hearing was set for October 28.
In the case of Desmond L. Lee of Farnham, charged with six counts of manufacturing/distributing Schedule I/II drugs, third or more offense, a status hearing was continued to December 9.
Towanga H. Palmer of Lancaster pleaded nolo contendere to distributing/selling Schedule I/II drugs for profit. The charge was amended to possession of Schedule I/II drugs. A deferred disposition was set for October 6, 2026. He owes $555 in costs.
In the case of Reginald M. Smith of Lancaster, charged with three counts of probation violation on a felony offense, a trial was carried over to January 27, 2026.
Randy Taylor of Fredericksburg pleaded guilty to two counts of distributing/selling Schedule I/II drugs for profit. Sentencing was scheduled for November 25. Two additional charges of distributing/selling schedule I/II drugs for profit were nolle prossed.
