Over 400 marchers participate in March for Democracy in downtown Kilmarnock

Over 400 people gathered in Kilmarnock Saturday, April 5, to March for Democracy, one of hundreds of peaceful protests across the nation that day as part of the Hands Off movement protesting cuts being made by the current presidential administration. KILMARNOCK—On April 5, well over 400 concerned citizens turned out for the Kilmarnock March for Democracy. The march was held in conjunction with the national Hands Off movement to protest the overreach of the current presidential administration.

Of particular concern to this community are the deep cuts to the departments of agriculture, education, veteran affairs and threats to Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security, reported organizer Charlotte Hollings.

One protestor was 90 years old and participating in her first march, said Hollings.
