Hoping warmer temperatures will boost participation, the Rappahannock River Yacht Club (RRYC) has abandoned its annual post-Thanksgiving Lights on the Creek boat parade for this new Halloween Spooktacular.
Scheduled for October 17, the parade will follow much the same format as the previous holiday boat parades, said vice commodore Glenn Solt.
Beginning shortly after sundown, the parade will take place on Carter Creek beginning near Custom Yachts. Boats will cruise past the Rappahannock River Yacht Club docks where judging will take place. From there they will proceed up the creek to the Tides Inn. Skippers will be safely guided along the route in the dark by RRYC club boats.
