Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported felony charges against one individual.
James Milton Veney, 42, of Newport News charged January 30 with revocation of suspension of sentence and probation on the underlying charge of manufacturing, selling, giving, distributing or possessing with the intent to manufacture, sell, give or distribute a controlled substance, for failure to obey an order of the Lancaster County Circuit Court ordering to complete Community Corrections Alternative Program.

January 27: Staff responded to the 600 block of Chesapeake Drive for an abandoned vehicle, to the 700 block of Nugent Lane for a scam, to the 500 block of Ottoman Ferry Road for legal advice, and to the 80 block of Edgewood Lane for a noise complaint.
January 28: Staff responded to the 900 block of Rappahannock Drive for identity fraud, to the 60 block of Club View Drive for fraud, to the 2000 block of Merry Point Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 2000 block of Devils Bottom Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 1600 block of Morattico Road for livestock in the highway.
January 29: Staff responded to the 1900 block of Black Stump Road for legal advice, to the 5000 block of White Chapel Road for an adult welfare check, to the 70 block of Windmill Point Road for a verbal disagreement, and to the 1100 block of Fleets Bay Road for destruction of property.
January 30: Staff responded to the 400 block of Levelgreen Road for a child welfare check, to the 20000 block of Mary Ball Road for trespassing, to the 700 block of Nuttsville Road for trespassing, to the 800 block of Nuttsville Road for suspicious activity, to the 800 block of Merry Point Road for an adult welfare check, to the 300 block of Greentown Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for threats, and to the 3000 block of White Chapel Road for threats.
January 31: Staff responded to Shore Drive for suspicious activity, to the 5000 block of Mary Ball Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 1000 block of Beanes Road for legal advice.
February 1: Staff responded to the 200 block of Chesapeake Drive for gunshots in the early afternoon hours.
February 2: Staff responded to the 100 block of Doggett Lane for suspicious activity, to Harris and Irvington roads for a disabled vehicle, and to Harris and Mary Ball roads for a disabled vehicle.
Staff also conducted 40 traffic stops, issued 46 summonses, assisted five motorists, recorded a deer strike accident, handled three requests for traffic control, investigated five building alarms, logged an inmate transport, received two E911 hang up calls, and fielded four calls for animal control service.
Fire calls
Lancaster County Emergency Medical Services (LCEMS) and Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a pedestrian hit by a vehicle at 80 Irvington Road and to a vehicle crash at 2090 Devils Bottom Road.
Kilmarnock VFD also responded to a fuel spill at 21 Cherry Hill Road.
White Stone VFD and LCEMS responded to a vehicle crash at 300 Greentown Road.
Upper Lancaster VFD and LCEMS responded to a vehicle crash at 5778 Mary Ball Road.
