Sheriff’s Report 06-11-20

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against three individuals.

A White Stone woman, 27, was charged June 1 with two counts of violating bail conditions.

A Lancaster woman, 27, was charged June 3 with contempt of court, failing to appear.

A Lancaster woman, 20, was charged June 7 with assault and battery of a family member.

Activity report

June 1: Staff responded to the 100 block of Harris Road for a fight in progress with a person with an altered mental status, to a walk-in report of disorderly conduct which occurred at 100 Windjammer Lane, to the 2900 block of Regina Road for an unattended death, to the 100 block of School Street to assist Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a domestic disturbance involving alcohol, and to the 900 block of Ocran Road for a person with mental issues.

June 2: Staff responded to the 100 block of Joyful Way for threats made to harm another, and to the 300 block of Devils Bottom Road for a minor vehicle crash on private property.

June 3: Staff responded to the 200 block of Mosquito Beach Lane for two paddleboarders in the Rappahannock River, to the 300 block of Twin Branch Road for a disorderly person involving alcohol, to the 100 block of Leetown Road for a person with an altered mental status, and to Mary Ball and Regina roads for a vehicle pursuit.

June 4: Staff responded to the 900 block of Ocran Road to check the welfare of the resident after receiving a report from a caregiver.

June 5: Staff responded to the 500 block of Gaskins Road for suspicious activity, to the 100 block of Lake Drive for obtaining money by false pretenses, to the 300 block of Lowery Creek Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash versus a tree, to the 2400 block of Merry Point Road for threats made to harm another and possibly possession of a weapon, and to the 600 block of Chesapeake Drive for a noise violation from loud music.

June 6: Staff responded to the 100 block of Genevieve for a possible burglary, to the 11200 block of Mary Ball Road for a stolen firearm, to the end of Windmill Point Road for reckless driving, to the 2500 block of Irvington Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 100 block of Fish Hawk Drive for a juvenile driving a scooter without safety equipment on the highway, to the 100 block of Bobwhite Lane for a verbal disagreement, to the 2400 block of Merry Point Road for a trespasser, and to several weather-related incidents such as downed trees and power lines and debris in the roadway.

June 7: Staff responded to the 900 block of Christ Church Road for the report of a stolen gun, and to the 200 block of Old Fairgrounds Way to assist KPD with a trespasser.

Staff also conducted eight traffic stops, issued two summonses, assisted two motorists, recorded two deer strike accidents, investigated three building alarms, processed two mental health orders, logged three inmate transports, received eight E911 hang-up calls, and fielded two calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

White Stone Volunteer Fire Department responded to a traffic crash on the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge. White Stone VFD also responded with Kilmarnock VFD to a boat fire on Harpers Creek Drive.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a fire/smoke alarm on Wishing Well Lane, a brush fire at Morattico and Nuttsville roads, a traffic crash on Lowery Creek Road and downed power lines on White Chapel Road.

EMS calls

For May 31-June 6, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 39 calls, including 18 medical emergencies, five injuries, four traffic accidents, four fires and eight other calls.
