Sheriffs’ Reports 10-16-25

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against eight individuals.

Felonies

David Allen Owens, 65, of Lancaster was charged October 10 with strangulation, and assault and battery of a family or household member (misdemeanor).

Craig Edward Miller,  64, of Weems was charged October 10 with two counts of knowingly communicating in writing a threat to kill or do bodily injury which placed such person in reasonable apprehension of death or bodily injury.

Dustin Matthew Johnson Sr., male, 38, of Lancaster was charged October 11 with abuse and neglect of a child.

Misdemeanors

A Lancaster woman, 55, was charged October 9 with six counts of petit larceny.

A Kilmarnock man, 46, was charged October 10 with driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

A Lancaster woman, 34, was charged October 12 with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

A Lancaster man, 72, was charged October 12 with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

A Lancaster woman, 71, was charged October 12 with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Activity report

October 6: Staff responded to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a disabled vehicle, to the 1600 block of Irvington Road for threats, to the 500 block of White Chapel Road for suspicious activity, and to the 3000 block of Crawfords Corner Road for an adult welfare check.

October 7: Staff responded to the 16000 Block of Mary Ball Road for a suspicious person.

October 8: Staff responded to the 8000 Block of Mary Ball Road for a civil complaint, to the Norris Bridge for debris in the highway, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for fraud, and to the 600 block of Black Stump Road for an adult welfare check.

October 9: Staff responded to the 400 Block of Twin Branch Road for a verbal dispute, to the 900 block of Mary Ball Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 500 block of White Chapel Road for trespassing, and to the 100 block of Richtown Road for an adult welfare check.

October 10: Staff responded to the Norris Bridge for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 200 block of Nuttsville Road for a domestic disturbance, and to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a fight in progress.

October 11: Staff responded to the 100 Block of Marigold Lane for an abandoned vehicle.

October 12: Staff responded to Old Orchard Drive for trespassing, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a larceny, to the 2000 block of Black Stump Road for a domestic disturbance, and to the 600 block of Rappahannock Drive for suspicious activity.

Staff also conducted 46 traffic stops, issued 42 summonses, assisted a motorist, recorded three deer strike accidents, handled a request for traffic control, investigated three building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged two inmate transports, received four E911 hang up calls, and fielded two calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at 458 Harris Road and a farm machinery fire at 2784 Crosshills Road.
