Smith commits to play soccer and study at Alfred University

COVID-19 has robbed Henry Smith of a lot of celebrations this year.

The Lancaster High School senior and Chesapeake Bay Governor’s School student didn’t get to have the traditional in-person graduation from governor’s school and won’t have the usual in-person June commencement at LHS. But maybe more importantly to the young, dedicated athlete is having the possibility of breaking an LHS school scoring record taken from him and several out-of-state and out-of-country travel soccer team trips canceled.

One thing not stolen, however, is Smith’s opportunity to play his favorite sport in college, a dream he’s had since…
