Virginia Lottery awards retailer bonus
Virginia Lottery representatives visited The Burgess Buoy Food Store on Tuesday, July 22, to present a $50,000 retailer bonus to store owner E & C Mid-Atlantic. On June 27, someone bought a Mega Millions ticket at the convenience store and won a $348 million jackpot, the largest jackpot ever won in Virginia. Although the jackpot winner has not yet come forward to claim the prize, lottery officials have been contacted, said Jones. The winner has 180 days to claim the ticket. Taking a one-time cash option, the winner could pocket an estimated $155.5 million before taxes. Photo by AnnGardner Eubank
