The annual St. Stephen’s Strawberry Festival will be held from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 24, on the grounds of historic St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 6801 Northumberland Highway, Heathsville.
The popular homemade strawberry shortcakes sell fast, “but we are ready this year!” said Kimberly Wigg who is overseeing the stand. “We baked over 1,400 shortcakes and will slice 300 quarts of strawberries, so there should be plenty for everyone.”
There also will be fresh strawberries by the quart, a silent auction and 50-50 raffle, more than 100 craft vendors, an extensive plant sale and a bake sale.
