YMCAs serving Heathsville, Warsaw and Kilmarnock participated in the nationwide YMCA Day of Giving on Tuesday, March 4, to raise money and awareness for programs that improve the Northern Neck community through youth development, healthy living, social responsibility, scholarships and water safety training.
“With the community support, we’re able to prevent drowning, help kids succeed, prepare teens for life, and help people grow in spirit, mind, and body,” said Northumberland and Richmond County Family YMCA executive director Allison Cockrell.
The annual impact campaign raises funds to provide swimming lessons to second graders, take kids shopping for back-to-school items through the Bright Beginnings program and teach teens leadership skills….
