PUD discussion continues in Irvington

IRVINGTON—The planning commission for the town of Irvington last week tried to recover from community backlash over a proposed planned unit development (PUD) ordinance that would allow as many as 400 townhouses on a 20-acre site.

The proposal had pitted planners against residents who claimed that allowing higher density housing would change the quaint character of Irvington.

During last week’s special workshop, some commission members spent most of the meeting explaining why they came up with the proposal to the 40 residents in attendance…
