128th Holly Ball season commences

The Holly Ball Committee recently announced the names of 19 young ladies who will be presented at the 128th Tidewater Foundation Holly Ball at 7 p.m. December 28 at Indian Creek Yacht and Country Club (ICYCC).

The Holly Ball dates from 1895 and has been continuously observed annually except during World War I, World War II, and the Covid pandemic of 2020. John Armistead Palmer crowned the first queen at the Eubank Hotel in Kilmarnock while hosting a holiday party. It became the precursor of the Tidewater Assembly Holly Ball and the subsequent crowning of a queen in each year thereafter.
