WHITE STONE—With a record amount of rainfall over the last few months, the water has nowhere to go in White Stone. Stormwater drainage issues had residents asking the White Stone Town Council for help last week.
Jim Francis and Richard Shell addressed council at its January 14 meeting. Several others, including Lamberth’s Building Supply owner Bruce Edwards, addressed the issue at the January 7 meeting.
“Several people showed up after our meeting was over that night,” said town manager Patrick Frere.
According to Frere, residents living in the Shady Lane and Cherry Point areas who didn’t realize the meeting time had been permanently changed several months ago from 7 p.m. to 6 p.m., showed up at the January 7 meeting after most of council had left. They voiced their concerns about….
