
Winners in the 64th annual Labor Day Art Show (LDAS) were announced during a reception and awards ceremony Friday, August 29, at the RAL Art Center, 19 North Main Street, Kilmarnock.
The show judge was Christopher Wagner, a sculptor whose work is displayed at the Linda Matney Gallery in Williamsburg, the Guardino Gallery in Portland, Ore., the Imogen Gallery in Astoria, Ore., and the Compound Gallery in Oakland, Calif. He is currently employed at William and Mary.
Wagner selected 28 works from the 157 listed entries to receive ribbons and cash prizes, reported exhibit team lead Juli Schuszler.
For the Best in Show Award, he selected “Summer,” an oil painting by Heidi Christensen. “The ethereal nature of this painting kept me coming back….
