Lancaster adopts $50.5 million budget without tax increase

LANCASTER—The Lancaster board of supervisors on Thursday, May 29, unanimously, 5-0, approved and appropriated a $50,555,970 budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year while keeping taxes unchanged.

Revenues for the upcoming year are expected to be relatively flat, up just $141,562 over the current budget. By category, general property tax receipts total $25,830,961; other local funds, $5,097,680; state funds, $5,954,372; federal funds, $2,004,069; school operating revenue, $6,128,032; cafeteria and textbook pass through funds, $725,488, with total funds available of $50,555,970, including a beginning of the year fund balance of $4,815,368.

Estimated expenditures, up $1,262,089 or 2.7%, total $46,861,129. By category….
