Preserving the wonder of Belle Isle

Belle Isle State Park was established in April 1993. It has been an under-appreciated treasure of the Northern Neck for 33 years. The Friends of Belle Isle (FOBI) invites others to discover Belle Isle.

The Rappahannock Indigenous People had a village on this beautiful parcel along the Rappahannock River in Lancaster. Later, enslaved Africans, and perhaps indentured Europeans, made this land profitable for colonial landowners. 

Today, FOBI invites everyone to participate in the healing and marvelous repurposing of this historic property.
