Sheriff’s reports 05-7-26

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against eight individuals.

Felonies

David Clarence Taylor, 68, of White Stone was charged April 4 with destruction of property/value $1,000 or more.

Carrie Michelle Crowell, 31, of Weems was charged April 4 with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Summer Earnest, 48, of Virginia Beach was charged May 2 with grand larceny, and without consent climbing into or upon automobile with intent to commit a crime or malicious mischief (misdemeanor).

Misdemeanors

A Kilmarnock woman, 30, was charged April 27 with failure to appear in court on April 21.

A Hayes man, 60, was charged April 28 with failure to appear in court on April 28.

A Lancaster man, 31, was charged April 29 with DWI, first offense (indictment).

A Kilmarnock man, 42, was charged May 2 with appearing in public in an intoxicated condition.

A Spokane, Wash., man, 49, was charged May 3 with committing reckless driving by driving a motor vehicle on the highway in excess of 85 miles per hour.

Activity report

April 27: Staff responded to the 1300 block of Lara Road for a reckless driver, to the 50 block of Clover Lane for a verbal dispute, and to the 200 block of Cherry Point Drive for a wanted person.

April 28: Staff responded to the 2000 block of Merry Point Road for a verbal dispute, to the 200 block of Lowery Creek Road for disorderly conduct, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a noise complaint, and to Thomas Landing Road for a suspicious vehicle.

April 29: Staff responded to the 100 block of Lancaster Drive for fraud.

April 30:  Staff responded to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for brandishing a firearm, to the 500 block of Hoecake Road for threats, and to the 2000 block of Windmill Point Road for threats.

May 1:  Staff responded to the 80 block of Dawson Lane for a scam, to the 17000 block of Mary Ball Road for debris in the highway, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for identity theft, to the 500 block of Ocran Road for legal advice; to Mary Ball and Field Trial roads for a disabled vehicle, and to the 200 block of Methodist Church Road for a domestic disturbance.

May 2: Staff responded to the 500 block of Gaskins Road for a noise complaint, to the 600 block of North Main Street for a fight in progress, to the 400 block of Twin Branch Road for shooting at an occupied dwelling/person, and to the 1400 block of Davis Mill Road for a suspicious person.

May 3: Staff responded to the 800 Block of Chesapeake Drive for a domestic disturbance, and to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for suspicious activity.

Staff also conducted 35 traffic stops, issued 21 summonses, assisted three motorists, recorded two deer strike accidents, handled a request for traffic control, investigated three building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged two inmate transports, received 8 E911 hang up calls, and handled five calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

White Stone Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire alarm on Steamboat Road.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a mutual aid call on Folly Neck Road.

Kilmarnock VFD responded to a smoke call on Irvington Road.
