REEDVILLE—Lonnie E. Dodson Jr., 81 of Reedville passed away June 7, 2026. He was the son of Lonnie E. Dodson Sr. and Mamie Rock Dodson.
He was a beloved member of the community, always taking time to help others. Whether you needed a ride or someone to fix your car, he was known to lend a hand. Lonnie enjoyed fishing with his kids and grandkids and tinkering around with vehicle repairs. He was known to always have a smile and his love for his family.
Lonnie is survived by his wife of 48 years, Deborah Rock Dodson; his three children, Tracy L. Dodson of Reedville, Randy E. Dodson and his wife Lisa of Suffolk and Steven T. Dodson of Suffolk; his four grandsons, Kaleb M. Wells, Christopher Wells, Trevor Dodson and Asim Dodson; and his two sisters, Shirley Dodson and Susan Crosby.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his two brothers, Daniel and Robert Dodson; and his daughter, Jessica M. Dodson.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Currie Funeral Home in Kilmarnock. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Fairfields Baptist Church Cemetery.
