
The Rappahannock River Yacht Club (RRYC) on Friday, July 3, hosted its annual Patriotic Boat Parade, followed by a Band on the Barge concert on Carter Creek.
Despite temperatures approaching 100 degrees, an estimated 16 beautifully decorated boats took part in the parade, reported commodore Glenn Solt. The fleet showcased the diversity of area boating, featuring everything from 56-foot sailboats and powerboats to electric Duffy boats and even a classic steamboat. Every vessel was festooned in red, white and blue, creating a festive display of patriotism on the water.
The parade began near Custom Yacht Service and made its way past the RRYC docks before continuing toward The Tides Inn. Residents and visitors lining the shoreline, watching from docks and boats, waved and cheered as….
