HEATHSVILLE—The Northumberland County Circuit Court convened Tuesday, August 4, with the Hon. John S. Martin presiding.
Kevin R. Cunningham of Haynesville pleaded guilty to two counts of probation violation on a felony offense. He was sentenced to five years with four years and 11 months suspended. He faces $646.88 in costs.
In the case of Jason O. Denton Sr. of Callao, charged with abduction by force/intimidation, possession of a weapon as a felon (not a gun) and possession/transportation of a weapon as a violent felon, a pre-trial hearing was set for November 24 with a jury trial scheduled for December 15.
In the case of Nathan L. Emminizer Sr. of Heathsville, charged with two counts of aggravated sexual battery to a victim 13 years or younger, two counts of sodomy to a victim 13 years or younger, and two counts of sexual penetration with an object to a victim 13 years or younger, a pre-trial hearing was set for September 1 with a two-day jury trial slated for September 17-18.
In the case of Eddie L. Gallagher of Mechanicsville, charged with driving with a suspended license while under the influence, his third DWI in 10 years and driving under the influence with a prior related felony conviction, a status hearing was set for August 25.
In the case of Nicholas L. Turner of Warsaw, charged with two counts of rape by force or threat, two counts of abduction with the intent to defile, three counts of use of a firearm while committing a felony, two counts of possession of a gun as a non-violent felon, forced sodomy, extortion in writing, and receiving stolen/aiding in the concealment of a firearm, pre-trial motions were denied and a jury trial was set for August 11. Turner also faces 11 misdemeanor charges of violating a protective order as well as misdemeanor obstruction/resisting arrest without force.
