White Stone council to allow upper story housing/apartments in commercial district

WHITE STONE—On the recommendation of the town planning commission, the White Stone Town Council on Thursday, August 6, approved two amendments to the zoning ordinance and an application for a conditional change of zoning.

 

Thomas Wilson was sworn in as a White Stone councilman last week to fill a vacant seat.

All three applications were approved unanimously, 6-0, with Charles Brocklebank making the motion to approve each. Brocklebank, Tad Pittman, Ran Reeves, Kathryn “Scotty” Roop, James “Jimmy” Smith and new councilman Thomas Wilson voted in favor. Councilwoman AnnGardner Eubank was absent. The vote followed public hearings at which no one spoke.

Virginia M. Jodon submitted a request for a conditional change of zoning from residential limited to commercial (C-1) for a .465-acre adjacent to Riverside White Stone Family Practice on….
