On Sunday, August 30, the leadership of The Island Church welcomed Iris Treakle as a new deacon to replace outgoing deacon George Williams.
Williams gave the sermon that day focused on how Divine Intervention guided his Christian life, reported Jo Manson. Immediately following the service, a reception was provided to honor George and Adeline Williams, both founding members and former trustees, thanking them for their many years of service to the church.
“It has been a privilege to work with the Williams throughout the years,” said Alan Hinson, also a founding member, former trustee and current deacon. “They have helped build a solid foundation for our church to continue to grow and serve the White Stone community.”
