Lady Devils open volleyball season

After losing a season opening match to Middlesex High School, Lancaster picked up a pair of wins in a doubleheader at Rappahannock County to end the first week of varsity volleyball at 2-1.

Middlesex, Lancaster’s stumbling block in 2025 post-season play, swept Lancaster, 3-0, in Saluda on Tuesday, August 25, winning two close sets, 25-21, 25-20, then taking the best of five match with a 25-11 third set.

Lancaster had 17 kills in the match. Alexis VerMeer put over seven, Izzy Gill four and Kelsey Cox three. Gill also had two blocks…..
