FAIRPORT—Patsy Edwards Haynie, 83, of Fairport passed peacefully on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, after a long, courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

She was the widow of Paul C. Haynie and the youngest of four children of the late Eula Dalton of Axton, and the late Fletcher C. Edwards Sr. of Danville. She was a retired employee of the Northumberland County Public School System and a member of Fairport Baptist Church.

Patsy is survived by her daughter, Judy H. Swann of Kilmarnock; and God-daughter, Virginia “Ginny” Haynie of Richmond; two grandchildren, Ryan M. Swann (Jaelene) and Tara L. Belden (Cody), all of Richmond; five great-grandchildren, Dean, Beau, Ryelene, Leighton and Lincoln; a brother, Fletcher C. Edwards Jr. (Barbara) of Henderson, Nev.; a sister-in-law, Faye Edwards of Martinsville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Dollie Littles, and brother, Hardin H. Edwards, both of Martinsville.

Funeral services will be private. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
