The Lancaster County Circuit Court convened Friday, September 11, with the Hon. John S. Martin presiding.
Carrie M. Crowell of Weems, previously found guilty of grand larceny, was given a two-year suspended sentence with 12 months of probation to begin upon sentencing. She also was ordered to pay $463 in court costs.
In the case of Jason P. Harsh of Lancaster, charged with a felony for violating probation, a show cause hearing was continued by defense motion to October 23.
In the case of Vesta J. Johnson of Lancaster, charged with a felony for violating probation, a show cause hearing was continued by defense motion to October 23.
In the case of Michael S. Kappel of Heathsville, charged with a felony for accepting advance pay without providing construction, a trial was scheduled for December 4.
In the case of Kelly J. Jaf-Wilson of Leesburg, appealing a General District Court misdemeanor conviction for shoplifting/altering merchandise, a trial was continued by defense motion to October 16.
In the case of Ryan D. Smith of Lancaster, charged with felonies for possession of a Schedule I/II substance and possession of a gun with a Schedule I/II substance, a trial was continued by defense motion until October 16.
In the case of Alton W. Meekins of Irvington, charged with felonies for possession of a Schedule I/II substance and failure to comply with pre-trial release conditions, bond was granted and a status hearing scheduled for October 23.
