Artisan Trail tours to begin

Judy Mooers of the Tavern Spinners & Weavers Guild will participate in a presentation on ways to spin fiber into yarn.

Beginning April 14, the Northern Neck Artisan Trail will launch a monthly open door tour.

On “Second Saturday on the Northern Neck Artisan Trail,” sites will feature a diverse collection of special events, classes, tours, tastings and exclusive open studio experiences, reported Corrine Becker of Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern, 73 Monument Place, Heathsville.

A premier stop on the trail, Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern will hold an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Tavern Spinners & Weavers Guild will host “From Sticks & Stones to 3-D Printed,” a special program on spinning fiber.

The Tavern Woodworking Guild will demonstrate spoon carving and decorative wood burning.

The Tavern Café will serve soups, fresh-baked breads, quiche and sweets, all homemade by the volunteer members of the Tavern Culinary Guild…
