JV Lady Devils go 1-1 in Wells Fargo Advisors Invitational games

Lancaster’s junior varsity Lady Devils split in non-district softball games at the Wells Fargo Advisors Invitational at Dream Fields last Friday.

Nandua edged Lancaster, 9-7, in the first game with Blair Smith pitching the complete game for LHS. Smith walked two and struck out four in seven innings.

At the plate for LHS, Madison Giese led with a double and run, while Amaya Veney, Shelby Rose and Logan Kemp all had a hit.

Nandua opened big with a five-run rally, “but we couldn’t get past that,” said LHS coach Shannon Smith.
