Irvington Fourth of July Hometown Parade to pay tribute to Lee Stephens

[dropcap]I[/dropcap]RVINGTON—The greater Irvington community will pay tribute to the late Robert “Lee” Stephens Jr. and honor one of the families that helped to shape the town at its annual Fourth of July Hometown Parade.

The parade will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 4, and move along King Carter Drive. Leading the processional along the parade route on King Carter Drive will be the Triangle Trolley, carrying members of the Stephens family, according to parade committee member Gary Hooper.

This initially started out as a tribute to Lee, but evolved into a family affair, which we believe is most appropriate,” said Hooper. “In addition, Lee is to be recognized in a tribute during the Armed Forces concert on the lawn at the Village Commons on July 2.”

Stephens, who was born and raised in Irvington, served as master of ceremonies for the Hometown Parade for 10 years…
