Sheriffs’ Report 2-07-19

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against eight individuals.

Felonies

Clifton Bernard Thomas Jr., 33, of Weems was charged January 28 with malicious wounding.

Keith Lionel Beane Jr., 18, of Lancaster was charged January 29 with grand larceny.

Misdemeanors

Judson Nicholas McGuire, 52, of Irvington was charged January 30 with probation violation-DWI offense.

Basil Eric Abbott, 55, of Weems was charged January 31 with assault and battery as well as possession of marijuana.

Kisa Chimere Tomlin, 36, of White Stone was charged January 31 with cruelty to animals.

Christopher Ryan Brooks, 30, of Lancaster was charged February 1 with probation violation-felony offense.

Vaughn Orlando Coleman Jr., 29, of Lancaster was charged February 1 with assault and batter.

Christopher Allyn Marchand, 31, of Lancaster was charged February 1 with failure to appear in court to report counsel.

Activity report

January 28: Staff responded to the 300 block of Greentown Road for a domestic assault with injuries, to the 200 block of Windfall Lane for a civil issue involving trees removed from the complainant’s property, to Gaskins and Christ Church roads for a child that may be lost or in need of services, and to the 900 block of Towles Point Road for vandalism to a mailbox.

January 29: Staff responded to the 200 block of Beach Road for theft and use of a credit card, to North Main Street to assist Kilmarnock Police Department with a two-vehicle traffic crash—DUI related, to the 100 block of Landing Drive to check the welfare of the resident after being reported missing by his employer, and to the 300 block of Ocran Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash with injuries.

January 30: Staff responded to the 200 block of Ocran Road to assist animal control with an animal cruelty investigation, to the 600 block of Rappahannock Drive for a minor two-vehicle crash, and to the 100 block of Gaskins Road for a domestic assault involving alcohol.

January 31: Staff responded to the 600 block of Black Stump Road for a domestic assault, to the 10400 block of Courthouse Road for an abandoned vehicle, to the 200 block of Taylors Creek Road to assist emergency management services (EMS) with entry into a residence for a medical issue, to the 100 block of White Chapel Road to assist Virginia State Police (VSP) with a traffic stop, and to the 100 block of New South Road for a domestic disturbance involving alcohol.

February 1: Staff responded to Pinckardsville Road for a vehicle abandoned in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to Cypress Lane for a suspicious person, to the 200 block of Campbell Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 600 block of Western Branch Road for a fight in progress, to Harris Road for locating a person with a mental issue, to the 10 block of School Street for the report of counterfeit U.S. currency, to Eubank Drive to assist VSP with a foot pursuit of two males, to the 600 block of Western Branch Road for threats to commit arson, and to a walk-in report of an assault that occurred in the 5400 block of Mary Ball Road.

February 2: Staff responded to Windmill Point Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 100 block of Harris Drive for a disorderly person, to the 100 block of Bayberry Lane for a stolen vehicle, and to the 3100 block of White Chapel Road for a three-vehicle traffic crash involving alcohol, with injuries.

February 3: Staff responded to the 300 block of Jeffrey Avenue for a missing child-located not long after the report, to the 100 block of Holly Haven Road for a domestic assault, and to the 200 block of Daniel Drive for a person with mental issues.

Staff also conducted 10 traffic stops, issued four summonses, assisted three motorists, recorded a deer strike accident, handled five calls for traffic control, investigated five building alarms, processed three mental health orders, logged five inmate transports, received seven E911 hang-up calls and fielded two calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a dumpster fire on Harris Road and to a traffic crash on north Main Street.

White Stone VFD responded to a vehicle crash on Rappahannock Drive.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a lift assistance request on Whispering Pines Road, a field fire on Merry Point Road, a traffic crash on Mary Ball Road, a search for missing children on Western Branch Road, a vehicle fire at Courthouse and White Chapel roads and a search for a missing child on Jeffrey Avenue.

EMS calls

For January 27-February 2, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 54 calls for service, including 21 medical emergencies, 12 injuries, two traffic accidents, two fires and 17 other calls.

Northumberland County Sheriff James R. “Doc” Lyons this week reported charges against four individuals.

Felonies

Wilbur Rodney Conway, 51, of Heathsville was charged January 18 on a direct indictment from the multi-jurisdictional grand jury with three felony counts of feloniously sell, distribute a schedule I or II drug.

William Allen Kirby, 62, of Heathsville was charged January 29 with unauthorized use of a vehicle valued at more than $500.

Misdemeanors

A Heathsville woman, 48, was charged January 29 with four counts of animal cruelty.

A Heathsville man, 44, was charged January 29 with four counts of animal cruelty.

Fire calls

For January 28-February 3, the Callao VFD responded to three medical calls and two motor vehicle crashes.

The Fairfields VFD responded to two medical calls and a motor vehicle crash.

EMS calls

For January 28-February 3, the Northumberland County Emergency Services, Callao Volunteer Rescue Squad, Mid-County Volunteer Rescue Squad and Northumberland County Volunteer Rescue Squad responded to 28 calls including 15 medical emergencies, 3 motor vehicle crashes, 10 trauma/falls.
