The best middle and high school band students in the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula gathered recently at Charles City High School for the Area Band weekend.
A few hundred students auditioned in February to be a part of these two bands, reported Lancaster Middle School band director Kenny Flester. Those selected began rehearsing Friday morning with music they’d never seen before under a director they’d never met before. They gave a concert Saturday afternoon.
