REEDVILLE—George Randolph Palmer Jr., 82, of Reedville passed away April 1, 2019.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine; daughters, Colleen Janek, Cathleen Petre, Karen Simon, Patti Fellers; son, George Randolph Palmer III; stepchildren, Lillian and Harold Katz; 12 grandchildren; sisters, Mary Smith and Suzanne Atwood; and brother, John Armistead Palmer II.
Randy worked as an engineer for Douglas Aircraft in California before joining his father in the metal manufacturing business in Cleveland, Ohio.
Upon retirement, he moved to Reedville where his grandfather, John Armistead Palmer, had once played a prominent role in the menhaden fishing industry. He volunteered as a docent at the Reedville Fishermen’s Museum. He was an avid golfer and bridge player.
Currie Funeral Home LLC of Kilmarnock handled the arrangements.
