Pearl of the Chesapeake gala and auction to support RFM

The Reedville Fishermen’s Museum on April 27 will hold it’s Gala Benefit Auction – the Pearl of the Chesapeake, from 5:30-9 p.m. at Festival Halle,177 Main Street, Reedville.

“We have an exciting event planned this year,” said executive director Lee Langston-Harrison.

The Pearl of the Chesapeake will offer music by a string trio from the Northern Neck Orchestra, she said. The decorating committee headed by Linda Schafer, is creating magic and transforming Festival Halle into an amazing venue featuring thousands of pearls and twinkle lights.

“This year’s event will feature an open bar offering mixed drinks, a signature cocktail, wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages. We’ll have shucked oysters at the raw bar and a selection of delicious catered hot and cold hors d’oeuvres from Reedville Market Bar and Grill and Little River Seafood—plenty enough to count as dinner,” said chairman Diane Reynolds.

“There are wonderful silent auction items and exciting live auction packages,” said procurement chairman Maureen Gillmer.

Items will include an oyster roast for 40 people, water adventures, a barbecue dinner for 12, hand carved decoys, a pair of Nationals Baseball tickets, a drone photography session, art work, jewelry, and restaurant and shop certificates.

Auction proceeds will benefit the museum’s educational and cultural programs.

The fee is $60 per person. For reservations, visit the RFM office, 474 Main Street, Reedville, call 453-6529 or go to www.rfmuseum.org.
