Citizens hear from candidates in Lancaster’s contested races

KILMARNOCK—Only two candidates in Lancaster’s upcoming elections took questions from the citizens gathered Tuesday, October 15, at Lancaster Community Library.

Organized by the Friends of Lancaster County and Friends of the Library, Candidate’s Night was an opportunity for the approximately 125 community members who attended to hear from candidates.

Charlie Costello, one of the organizers and host for the evening, urged civility before the candidates began speaking, reminding them that “we’re all neighbors.”

Each candidate in local contested races had 10 minutes to address the audience. How they chose to use that time was entirely up to them. Most chose to take the entire time sharing their positions on a variety of issues.
