WARSAW—Riverside Health System confirmed that “as of April 27, 18 residents and seven team members have tested positive for COVID-19” at The Orchard, an assisted living community in Warsaw.
“Testing of residents and staff began immediately after learning a staff member at the community tested positive for COVID-19 last week,” said Riverside Health System public relations director Peter Glagola.
“The Orchard has been prepared for this pandemic and is strictly following all Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) recommendations in our operations,” continued Glagola. “Those recommendations include the screening of all team members before their shift, use of personal protective equipment, no communal dining, social distancing, masking of all team members, limited visitation and entrance to the facility, rescheduling of non-urgent resident appointments that are outside of the facility and other mitigation efforts.
