Samuel H. “Sam” George

LANCASTER—Samuel H. “Sam” George, 77, of Lancaster passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 7, 2020.

He is survived by his wife, Faye George; two sons, Scott George (Peggy) and Wayne George (Hope); stepdaughter, Stacy Campbell, grandchildren, Kara Everett (Nate) and Kori George (Ryan), David George and Morgan George; and step-grandchildren, Brandon George, William Campbell (Ruth) and Brittany Campbell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Walter George and Violet Howard George and his brother, Walter Bayne George.

Sam was a very active member of the Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department for more than 20 years where he served as president, secretary and had many other roles. He was also a member of Corrottoman Baptist Church where he was a former deacon.

Funeral services were held at  2 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock. Interment followed the service at Corrottoman Baptist Church Cemetery, Ottoman. Family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday, October 12, at the funeral home.
