The Rappahannock Art League recently announced its special events for January.
The events will be held at the Studio Gallery, 19 North Main Street, Kilmarnock, reported Barbara Pulling of the communications committee. For course fees and registration, visit the gallery or call 436-9309.
A new exhibit, “You be the Judge,” will open January 3 and continue through the month. The viewing public will judge this popular show, said Pulling. RAL members will submit original works of art in a variety of mediums. Visit the gallery to cast votes.
A First Friday Reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. January 6. Patrons may meet some of the exhibiting artists and enjoy light refreshments. The public is welcome.
An adult paint night, “Paint with a Happy Brush,” will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. January 20. The instructor will be Renate Bumgarner. A $30 fee includes all materials and snacks. Participants may bring a favorite libation.
Fundamentals of Photography, with Bill Reckert, will be offered from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, January 10 through February 9. This course is open to anyone who’s interested in photography. The fee is $150 for RAL members, or $175.
