Robert R. Allison

LANCASTER—Robert Russell Allison stepped into heaven on December 24, 2016. He was born in Baltimore, Md., on March 16, 1935.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Y. Allison, of 59 years. Robert is also survived by two sons, Ricky L. Allison (Kathy) of Lively and Ronald G. Allison (Leslie) of Kilmarnock. He is survived by a brother, Leonard Russell. He is also survived by a granddaughter, Emily A. Walker (Curtis) of Lively, three step-grandchildren, Gretchen Hedges (Dwight) of Mechanicsville, Kyle Seright of Callao and Evan J. Seright of Gainesville, Ga. He leaves one great-granddaughter, Dallas B. Walker of Lively; two step great-grandchildren, Catherine J. Hanley and Ethan G. Hanley of Mechanicsville. Robert also leaves two adopted sons, Seng Sony and Seng Sanoeun, both of Richmond. He leaves behind several dear friends: Joyce Hutching, Mattie Headley, both of Lively, and Linda Hoffman of Madison.

Robert retired from AmeriGas in March of 1996 and had many woodworking hobbies. He was instrumental in the restoration of Historic White Marsh Church and enjoyed the many hours spent working on the church. He was chairman of the board of the church from 2011 to 2013 and after resigning as chairman due to health problems was made vice-chairman.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, at Historic White Marsh Church, Lancaster. Interment followed at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Lively. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. December 27 at Currie Funeral Home.
